Mail-in Registration Packets for the 2009-10 school year were distributed to current 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students in Advisory today, May 18. Students, please be sure to take these packets home and review the contents with your parents/guardians. The deadline to return the completed packets is Monday, June 15. If you missed Advisory today, please stop by the Main Office this week to pick up your packet. Copies of all registration forms are also available on the Heritage website.
Locker Clean-out: All 9th, 10th, and 11th graders will clean out their lockers on Monday, May 18 during Advisory. On Friday May 22, the last day of school, all lockers will be opened and cleaned out at 11:00 a.m. by the custodial staff. Students have 30 minutes after the final bell at 10:30 to empty their lockers. Anything left in the lockers after 11:00 a.m. will be disposed of.
A Chance to Go Green: Monday is locker clean-out day. As you actually look for the bottom of your locker you may find highly recyclable items, such as pens, pencils, graph paper, notebook paper, three ring binders still in good shape, colored pencils, folders, compasses, protractors and markers. Then look for the boxes with the green signs that will be placed in the hallways. Please, no trash!
AP Chemistry Students: Students enrolled in AP Chemistry for the 2009-2010 school year need to see Mr. Brueckner in Rm. 327 to pick up an information packet prior to leaving school for the summer.

All School BBQ: The All-School BBQ will be on the patio outside of the Student Center on Wednesday May 13, periods 3-6. The cost is $2.75 for either a hot dog or hamburger with chips, baked beans, potato salad, a cookie and lemonade. Come join the fun!

Future Lawyers of America: The Arapahoe County Bar Association sponsors a mock trial day. Littleton City attorney Suzanne Staiert will speak about the program during Advisory on Thursday, May 7 in the 2nd floor Lecture Hall. If you are interested in participating in this opportunity, please attend.

ARP volunteers search for people in Colorado and neighboring states in association with Littleton Police, Arapahoe County Sheriffs and various search and rescue groups. You will develop important life skills as a member and perform significant community service.

We are offering a discount that is only available if you pre-purchase your tickets. Bring in 5 unopened, currently dated canned food items and get $5 off the ticket price. Only one discount will be allowed per ticket.

It’s BACK! Dodgeball Tournament! The Boys and Girls Basketball programs are putting on the 3rd Annual Heritage Dodgeball tournament, on Tuesday April 14. Sign up will start today and go through Thursday of this week. If you are interested, go to the sign up stations near the senior pit and on the 2nd floor by the main entrance. There needs to be 6 players per team (at least 2 members of the opposite gender must compose the team). The cost for each team is $60 which includes regular season games and the tourney. Forms and payment are due on April 9. Come out and TAKE A SHOT at seeing who the best of the best is!

This activity will kick-start MAD Week by helping students to think about the world around them. The clean-up will be held at Heritage and in the surrounding neighborhoods on Saturday, April 11, 2009. Meet in the Student Center at 9:30 a.m. and enjoy breakfast from Lamar’s and Panera. Students who participate will be entered into a raffle at the end of the day to win gift cards to their favorite lunch places.

Porter Adventist Hospital Junior Volunteer Program: Porter Adventist Hospital is organizing its summer Junior Volunteer Program. They are looking for outstanding students ages 14 -18 who are interested in serving the community and who are interested in exploring opportunities in the health care field. Student volunteers must commit to a minimum of 8 hours per week. Students are eligible to apply for a scholarship once they have volunteered a minimum of 175 hours. Topics of discussion will include the college application process, transcript requests, ACT/SAT scores, personal essays, recommendation letters, FAFSA, scholarships and other topics regarding post-grad planning. The evening will begin promptly at 6:30 in the HHS Theatre. All juniors attending this workshop with their parents will receive a newly updated Eagle Folder. This program is geared toward juniors; however any interested sophomore or freshman students and their parents are welcome.
