SWIM WAIVER TEST: LAST DAY TO SIGN UP IS TODAY!
The Swim Waiver Test will be given after school tomorrow. Any student who wishes to take the test must sign up with Ms. Rossing or Mrs. Lee TODAY. Any Junior who has not taken swimming should consider the swim waiver test now, or sign up for swimming in either summer school or their senior year. Please try to take your swimming requirement before your senior year.

THE PSAT TEST IS COMING SOON! We are offering the Practice SAT Exam on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at HHS. The cost for this exam is $20, and you can sign up with payment in at the registration table outside the Counseling Office starting on September 26, 3rd through 5th hours . We will take students on a first come, first served basis until we run out of tests. The PSAT is designed for juniors, as students will receive valuable feedback on areas needing further preparation prior to the SAT. Juniors with scores in the top 5% of national test takers will qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Competition. Sophomores are welcome to take this practice test for some early experience in a standardized, timed test setting. See your counselor if you have any questions.

MAD WEEK: Hey! Got an idea for this year’s MAD Week? Want to make the world a better place? Have an organization you feel passionately about? Community Relations is accepting ideas for MAD Week 2012. Get a submission form in the main office. All ideas are due to Mrs. Smith in the English Department by October 6th!

FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN STUDENTS will be meeting again on September 27th, Tuesday, at 2:20 p.m. in room 214. Mr. Brad Allen will lead in a fun combination of games and study. All are welcome. See Mr. Collins and/or Mr. Hofschire for more info.

ATTENTION SOPHOMORES: The Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar, or HOBY, is a wonderful leadership experience offered to one sophomore student each year. Those students will be registered for a four-day leadership trip in the summer of 2012. Students interested in applying for this program should see Mr. Powers in the Counseling Office by Friday, October 7th. There will be a brief application with short essay required for you to be considered for the HOBY Program. See your counselor with questions.

OPEN WRESTLING will begin on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45 to 4:00 p.m. This is for wrestlers not out for a fall sport. We need wrestlers of all sizes, no experience necessary. Be part of a great experience. Practice has already begun so don't miss out on the chance to be part of our team.

ACT PREP: Parents and Juniors and Seniors-take advantage of this wonderful free opportunity! Sign up soon since space is limited! You are invited to attend a complimentary ACT PREPARATORY REVIEW SESSION Saturdays during the School Year at DeVry! These review sessions are open to all high school students preparing for the ACT exam. Sessions include content review plus test-taking strategies and cover the following:

• 8:00 am - 12:00 pm: Test overview, Language Arts,Reading,Writing
• 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Complimentary Lunch Provided On Campus
• 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm: Mathematics and Science Reasoning

FREE TUTORING: Needing some extra help in your math or science class? Lockheed Martin provides free tutors who are highly qualified in these courses. They are available on a walk-in basis on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 6 – 7:30 p.m. at Littleton High School. This opportunity is newly available to HHS students of all levels of math and science. See your science teacher, math teacher, or your counselor to get more information. It’s a great opportunity for you!

THE DENVER ZOO is hosting Career Discovery Day, an opportunity to learn about animal-related careers, experience special tours, meet zoo experts, and participate in hands-on activities.
