CONGRATULATIONS TO JENNA PINTO who was awarded the “Star of the Month” by the John Lynch Foundation. This is a prestigious honor rewarding athletes who excel in athletics, academics and community service. Congratulations also to our head football coach, Mike Griebel, who was awarded the “Coach of the Month” by the John Lynch Foundation.

PICTURE RETAKES: The photographer will return to Heritage on Tuesday, October 25, to do picture packet retakes. In order to have your picture re-taken by the photographer, you will need to bring the original picture packet back. This is truly the last time you will have to do pictures this year. Students should plan ahead and remember to stop by the Student Center between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. If a student is new to our school, they should also stop by and have their photo ID’s done as well. Remember a photo ID is required to attend the homecoming dance on Saturday, October 29, 2011.

GRADUATING SENIORS: If you don’t have a copy of your birth certificate in your school file, your diploma will be printed as is shown in Infinite Campus. A diploma is a legal document and your name must be the same as the birth certificate. If the diploma is printed incorrectly, Herff Jones will charge a fee to print a corrected one. If you would like to confirm that you have one, please come to Mr. Wells’ office and check with Kerry Ficklin.

This week’s goal: “Narrow down your college options and connect careers to a program or major.” Go to www.ciccollgeappmonth.org to learn more or sign up to see your counselor to help you with this week’s goal, entering to win the scholarships, as well as your overall college planning!

ATTENTION JUNIORS AND SENIORS: Are you interested in taking spring semester classes at ACC that would count for both high school and college credit? We have a program called Concurrent Enrollment where LPS will pay the cost of tuition for up to 2 college classes as long as you earn a grade of C or better. See Mr. Powers in the Counseling Office right away if you are interested. The application materials must be completed and turned in by October 31st. See your counselor if you have more questions, and take advantage of this fantastic opportunity!
