REGISTRATION FOR STUDENTS: Please be aware that the student Prospector Course Guide for 2012-2013 will be available online this afternoon (Monday 1/23), and was not available on January 20th as previously anticipated. A hard copy of the prospector will no longer be distributed to Heritage students. Students can view copies of the course guide on our website. Students and parents - please plan accordingly and be familiar with the course offerings prior to the start of registration.

FREE MATH TUTORING AT BEMIS LIBRARY: Free math tutoring is available through the month of April, from 2:45 – 5:00 p.m., at Bemis Library, and there is space available! Please contact Judy Armstrong at judyarms@aol.com. Please mention Bemis in the subject line. Students can drop in to do homework and get as much math help as they need!

TRANSCRIPTS AVAILABLE ON THE INFINITE CAMPUS PARENT AND STUDENT PORTAL: These are unofficial transcripts. Official transcripts are $5, and Transcript Request Forms are available online under the General Tab, then School Forms, or in the Counseling Office/Post Grad Center.

ART SHOW- ART SHOW -ART SHOW: The annual LPS Secondary Art Show is on display at Bemis Library (lower level). The show runs through today. Parents, teachers, administrators, students and all other art lovers are invited to attend today’s closing reception from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

MAD WEEK T-SHIRT COMPETITION: Do you remember how awesome our MAD Week shirts were last year? Do you think you have what it takes to continue our tradition? If you do, pick up a t-shirt designing form from the Main Office on Mrs. Moody’s desk. The form will tell you everything you need to know about submitting your designs. All the shirt designs will be due back to Mrs. Smith in the Language Arts Department by Friday, February 3. Thank you for your creative ideas – we look forward to viewing them!

ALPINE CLUB: The Alpine Club proudly presents the classic mountaineering movie "Touching the Void" in the 3rd Floor Lecture Hall on Wednesday, January 25th at 2:30 pm. Pick up a parent permission form from Sherpa Warren. Refreshments will be served plus there will be a mystery prize give away.

GIRLS TENNIS INFORMATION & SIGN UP MEETING for parents and players will be held Wednesday January 25th at 7 p.m. in the Student Center. All information including uniform ordering and signing up for the Pre-Season Clinics will take place. See Ms. Brethauer with questions of if you cannot attend.

CISV (CHILDREN'S INTERNATIONAL SUMMER VILLAGE): Is looking for delegates age 14 -18 to represent Denver and the U.S. in our summer/winter international peace camps for 2-4 weeks long. Through CISV, youth learn about countries and cultures through peace education, creating global friendships and travel and experience host family stays or village camp experience with delegates from up to 10 other countries. Camp experience includes character building, team and group dynamics, peer mediation, global awareness and leadership skills while you explore cross cultural issues in locations such as: Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Korea, or Honduras this summer. HEY HERITAGE - DO YOU HAVE TALENT? Can you juggle, dance, sing? Do you have a strange and/or unique talent? This spring the HHS Thespians are hosting a spring talent competition: HHS Has Got Talent! There will be fabulous prizes for the acts that place first, second, and third. Auditions will be after school on Thursday, March 22nd and the show will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 23rd. Start practicing, only the best acts will make the show. Not interested in auditioning? That's okay, plan on seeing the show! Information packets with audition guidelines and instructions are available from Miss O. in the theatre or at www.hhstheatre.net on the Spring Talent Show page.

GERMAN CLUB is meeting this week on Thursday, January 26 after school. We will be meeting in room 101, the classroom kitchen, to make Gummibaerchen. They are delicious. Please come to the Consumer/Family Studies kitchen at 2:30 p.m. for some fruity fun.

STRATEGIC GAMING CLUB meets on Tuesdays in room 304 from 2:25-3:25 p.m. Come join us for chess, collectible card games and more, anything that engages your brain. Bring your own deck or game, or join in with others. Learn something new! Everyone is welcome. See Mrs. Phipps if you need more information.

TRACK ATHLETES: Can you run far distances like a Kenyan, sprint fast like a Jamaican, jump tall buildings in a single bound, vault the Grand Canyon, hurdle obstacles purposely put in front of you, throw unbelievable distances? If so, there will be a Track Meeting on Wednesday, January 25th at 2:30 in the third floor lecture hall. Any athlete that is not currently out for a winter sport should attend if you are planning on going out for Boys or Girls Track this spring.

PLEASE JOIN THE LIBERTY BELLES & JV POMS IN HELPING US RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT HUNGER IN COLORADO: Although more than 900,000 people in Colorado struggle put food on their tables, the issue of hunger is often silent and invisible. Hunger Free Colorado is collecting 10,000 plates with personal notes, messages or signatures to help put a face to of hunger in Colorado. These messages for change will be added to thousands of others as a unified statement that Coloradans are hungry for change and will be displayed at public art installations in Spring 2012. If you want to help us, there is room for you at the table. Visit www.hungerfreecolorado.org to learn more. We will have a table outside the student center/pit area periods 3 - 6, Monday, January 23 - Friday, January 27. We have plates and markers. This costs you nothing except your time. Please come decorate a plate to help raise awareness.

YOGURTLAND FUNDRAISER: Heritage/Littleton Women’s Lacrosse is having a fundraiser at Yogurtland at University and Dry Creek, today from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. this evening. Please support our women’s lacrosse team!

INTENT TO RENEW: If you live out of district (i.e., Highlands Ranch, Denver, Englewood, Jefferson County, etc.), you need to submit an Intent to Renew form to let us know whether or not you intend on returning to Heritage for the 2012-13 school year. This form can be found on our website under the “General” tab, then “School Forms”. If you have not already done so, please turn this form in to Ms. Ollada in the Counseling Office by the January 30, 2012 deadline!

LIBRARY NEWS:
• All HHS Library fines totaling $3.00 or more have been placed in the student’s IC account, and now must be paid in the Main Office to our Bookkeeper Ms. Schreiberg.
• With the new Follett/ Destiny Library system installed 1/3/2012, all students who wish to challenge their library fines must do so BEFORE Friday, March 2, 2012.
