STUDENTS: If you have an appointment that causes you to leave school during class time, it is required that you have a pass to show your teacher in order to leave class. Your parent must call the appointment in to the attendance office first, and then it is YOUR responsibility to pick your pass up in the attendance office. This will allow you to leave class with minimal interruption.

SENIOR YEARBOOK PICTURES: Didn’t get your senior portrait in to the yearbook? You still have time! Submit your picture before the end of October, and you can still get in! There will be a $25 late fee, but hey, having your picture in your SENIOR yearbook is a once-in-a-lifetime thing, so do it! Also, don’t forget to remind mom or dad about creating a senior dedication (or baby ad) for you. The next deadline is Monday, October 17. The final deadline is November 1. For more info, check out the yearbook page on the HHS website.

HOMECOMING WILL TAKE PLACE Monday, October 24th through Saturday, October 29th.
This year’s theme is Clash of the Titans! Each class is a Greek God:
Seniors (Class 2012) – Zeus
Juniors (Class 2013) – Poseidon
Sophomores (Class 2014) – Apollo
Freshmen (Class 2015) – Hermes

• Battle of the Classes will occur all throughout the month of October. Classes can earn points for dressing up each day, winning Powder Puff, bringing the most non-perishable food items, attendance at different events throughout the month, and events during the Pep Assembly. Listen to morning announcements and check the website for more information.
• Dance tickets will be on sale on the first floor across from the Senior Pit beginning Wednesday, October 19th through Friday, October 28th during periods 3-6. PARENTS – IMPORTANT!
Excusing Your Student for an Appointment
If your student has an appointment that will cause him/her to miss class time, please:
1. Phone the appointment information into the attendance office 24 hours in advance: 303-734-6700
a. Include the time your student needs to leave and the time you expect them to return to school.
b. If a message is left on the recorder the day of the appointment, it may not be retrieved until after your student needs to leave.
2. A pass will be prepared and waiting in the attendance office for your student to pick up first thing in the morning.
3. Your student needs to give the pass to the appropriate teacher before class begins so the student can leave class with minimal interruption.
4. Upon returning to school, your student must check in at the attendance office, even if it is during an off hour or passing period. Failure to do so may result in an unexcused absence.
IF YOU ARRIVE AT SCHOOL TO PICK YOUR STUDENT UP WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE, YOU MAY EXPERIENCE A DELAY THAT COULD CAUSE YOU TO BE LATE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. THE ATTENDANCE OFFICE DOES NOT ALWAYS HAVE SOMEONE AVAILABLE TO RUN PASSES TO CLASSROOMS.
Thank you for your cooperation!
